HEATHER RUNTING

Heather is largely a self taught photographer, based on the Mornington Peninsula since 1998. Working from an original old cottage, renovated and set up as Seawind Studios, she specialises in fine art portraiture and fine art décor photography. Heather is a multi award winning photographer –locally, nationally and internationally.

Heather aims for strong and often simple compositions with beautiful lighting. When shooting, she is visualising the finished image in her mind. Interpretation of the image and the material for it to be printed on for display is the final stage of the creative process. Her inspiration is the quality of and the way light falls upon our beautiful world. She notices the things that many don’t see and this is what she loves to capture and what gives her work its individuality. 

One of her favourite sayings is that of the famous American landscape photographer, Ansel Adams…"You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”
